☢️ HBM Nuclear Tech — (OpenWar changes)

HBM brings the nuclear stuff, the explosives, some resources and heavy weapons. This page sums up what changes on OpenWar on the gameplay side (not the whole mod).

💥 Many extreme HBM weapons (missiles, warheads, nukes…) are banned on the server → see Banned items. The loot from crates and boxes is largely made up of HBM resources.

💣 Nukes far better absorbed

This is the big change. On OpenWar, a nuclear explosion doesn't flatten everything in a sphere like in vanilla HBM:

  • Solid and reinforced blocks absorb a huge amount of damage: a well-built bunker can survive a strike.
  • The system accounts for the solidity / structure of the walls: layers of resistant blocks stop the blast (tested example: 7 layers of CMB brick stop a "Little Boy").
  • Small nukes are heavily nerfed; you need heavy firepower to punch through a real defense.

🛡️ Gameplay consequence: building thick and reinforced actually means something. A well-built base resists nuclear raids.

🧱 Rebalanced defense blocks

  • The resistances of defense blocks (concrete, compound brick, ducrete, CMB brick…) have been readjusted for a coherent raid/defense balance.
  • Defensive blocks are anti-piston: they can no longer be pushed with pistons (no more bypassing defenses with a piston).

🎯 Explosives are governed by OpenWar

This is the big link with the server: you don't trigger an HBM explosive freely, it's wired into the factions' war system.

Rule What it means
💥 Raid Points cost Detonating a bomb, launching a missile, throwing an offensive grenade or firing a destructive shell consumes Raid Points from your faction (cost depends on the explosive)
🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Faction required Without a faction, no detonation of an offensive explosive
☢️ Nukes → faction level 20 Nuclear weapons require the Nukes perk (faction level 20)
🚫 Redstone disabled You can no longer trigger a bomb via redstone/lever — it takes a player (who pays the RP). No more automatic nuke traps
🏠 Spawn protection No explosion can touch the spawn area ("TOO CLOSE TO SPAWN")
🏭 Production locked Machines (assembler, factory) won't build an item above your level
🆓 Non-destructive shells Shots that don't break blocks (gas, smoke, cargo) are free

🛡️ Result: nuclear war is a resource you earn, not a spammable button.

⛽ Fuels for vehicles

HBM provides the Kerosene and Diesel fluids (and the canisters to carry them) that are used to refuel McHeli vehicles.

Page verified by scanning the code (com.hbm.openwar integration + markers): the Raid Points / nukes / anti-redstone / spawn-protection system was added here.
